What happens after the 12 week / 60 session phase? Is there a maintenance phase?
The first 12 weeks of Alevia training are intensive, designed to create changes in the way your brain processes pain. This maximises the benefits of neurofeedback. After completing 60 sessions in 12 weeks, you may already be feeling many benefits, but you may wish to continue with 5 sessions a week until you feel ready to progress to the maintenance part of the treatment, which is 2-3 sessions per week.
The 12-week treatment is a minimum guideline based on clinical trial results. Individual brains vary, and some people may require more time before they are ready to move to the maintenance phase. You can also use the Alevia system to deal with flare-ups in response to changes in your condition, additional pain or stressful life events. If you feel you need to do more sessions again after a flare-up then you should do so, and then move to the maintenance treatment again when you feel ready.
